WELCOME
Two old Toupees
We have travelled a long road. A long journey which began along separate paths on different continents. Then our paths crossed, and we began traveling together in our forties. We are still here, a bit older now, a bit battered around the edges, but we are still here. We are about to start a brand-new journey because we are still here. We know that the only reason we are still here today is because God was always walking the road with us individually and together every step of the way.
I am inviting everyone who comes across this blog to come travel with us on this new journey. But I must also mention that blog writing is new to me just like so many technical things to do with this new technological age. Yes, even that is part of our new journey. I guess you are wondering why I decided to start this blog. Well we have children, grandchildren plus many relatives and friends strewn across this beautiful wondrous world God has created for us. So I want to share the story, the photos and videos with them all.
Now to us, this year has been very important, we are beginning our life as octogenarians. We were told by many folks who heard about our plans that at that the ripe old age of 80 most people live life quietly, close to hospitals and medical facilities. For us 80 is a number. Yes, we are a bit slower than when our life began together however to us this age does not limit us from embracing new experiences and the joys of discovery. Obviously, we have lived through many decades making rich and wonderful memories. Our family is grown up now, so it’s time to begin this other new life. We are still full of curiosity even after we have gained a lifetime of wisdom already. This journey is not just about seeing new places; it’s about reigniting our sense of wonder, maybe even finding new and refreshed connections with each other, while appreciating the world in a new way. Together we are visiting places which were always loved by Mark in his youth, I am excited to see and experience those places. We sold and gave away everything from our old life apart from our trusting furry four-legged Babies. Chloe our Jack Russel look alike with long legs and Cat born in a horse stable in Port Hedland Australia, will be on this new journey with us. Together we are completing our left behind dreams from the bucket list. We are ready for every fresh moment to unfold. To us this trip is much more than a vacation; it’s our celebration of resilience, companionship, and love. We have planned for this new life adventure and worked towards it discarding a huge collection of material things. I must say that it has taken the last few months working harder than ever and now we are ready to show that life has endless possibilities at any age.
